Young Living came out with the Thieves Foaming Hand Soap a few months ago. I really liked that it didn’t dry my hands, plus had all the bacteria busting properties of the Thieves essential oil.
One day a couple months ago the weather was so hot, I felt so grubby and sticky. I wanted to feel completely refreshed, right down to my cells. So I picked up my bottle of Thieves Foaming Hand Soap and read the ingredients again to see if I wanted to use that in the shower. I read it and thought, “huh, why not give it a try!”
Holy smokes! Did that ever make me feel spick-and-span clean – I’ve never used anything that made my skin feel that clean and fresh before. Since then, I haven’t used anything else.
This past Thursday, it was time for our “monthly” Bandit gets a bath day. He loves to take a bath and be groomed, he’s the cleanest, most tidy dog I’ve ever known. Anyway, I got his towels ready and the big batter bowl I use for wetting and rinsing him – as he prances around the bathroom looking like a litttle kid impatiently waiting for a special treat.
He hops in the tub, with a little help from me so he doesn’t slip. When it came time to lather him up I reached for the Thieves Foaming Hand Soap (rather than my bottle of Young Living Rosewood Shampoo which I normally use). I pumped some on him and rubbed it in good.
I like to keep him lathered up for at least 15 minutes because my vet told me years ago that by doing that it should kill any bugs and fleas and eggs that might be on him. I’ve done that for the past 5 years and he has never had a flea on him. I would never keep any store bought shampoo or soap on him for that long because the chemicals would get absorbed through his skin.
After he dried I brushed him like I normally do. What I noticed right away was how super silky his coat was and I have never seen his coat as shinny. His coat normally has a nice shine, but this was different, where sunlight stuck his coat it was as close to bright white, mirror-like reflection as you can imagine a dogs coat having.
I really think that using the Young Living essential oils on him, his being around when I have my cold-air diffuser running, and being on a raw diet has helped significantly in keeping him very healthy and far more youthful than much younger dogs.
He’s 7 now, still weighs between 70 – 75 lbs (which is what he weighed when he was 3), no gray, he has never been sick – people can’t believe it when I tell them how old he is. I highly recommend a raw diet and therapeutic-grade essential oils for dogs.
