Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) are used as a surfactants to break down the surface tension of water. It is used in concrete floor cleaners, engine degreasers, car wash detergents, and just about every soap and shampoo on the market. And guess what… I’ll bet ya, if you go into your bathroom right now – yup even if your products claim to be all-natural… and read your toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap, bar soap – you name it – Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate will be listed on the label.

• Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate have been used in studies to induce mutations in bacteria

• Sodium Lauryl Sulfate actually corrodes hair follicles and impairs ability to grow hair!

• It denatures protein, impairs proper structural formation of young eyes, creating permanent damage

• Sodium Lauryl Sulfate can damage the immune system

• It can cause separation of skin layers and cause inflammation to the skin

When it interacts with other nitrogen bearing ingredients, Carcinogenic Nitrates can form as a result.

According to the Journal of the American College of Toxicology; Vol. 2, No. 7, l983, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is a mutagen. In sufficient amounts, it is capable of changing the information in genetic material found in cells!

I can go into 98% of the homes in the USA or Canada, even IF they are households of people who buy organic and all-natural products, and find Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate in all of their personal care products. Don’t believe me? Look for yourself, go read your labels. It IS in your personal care products and you don’t even know it.

If you want to get a better idea of how each of those ingredients rank on the toxicity scale go to Skin Deep and type in the ingredients one-by-one and see the results. I especially encourage you to do this if you’re buying all-natural products – you aren’t getting what you think you’re getting.

What the Skin Deep database won’t tell you is this – when you “combine” ingredients you are creating an entirely “new” chemical that isn’t even on the label, that you didn’t bargin for. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty angry at these companies and their deceptive schemes. Be warned, when enough of us protest their ingredients they WILL simply find another name to call the undesireable ingredient(s) – that is proven extremely well in the case of MSG. So, don’t let them fool you!

I, on the otherhand, prefer to not voice my concerns to those companies. I simply will never buy from them again. I get all of my personal care products from Young Living. And yes, I would use the Young Living essential oils and products even if I didn’t sell them, I used them for eight years before I started my business.

The ingredients are safe, I can even eat Young Living’s toothpaste and NOT die (unlike all other toothpastes sold) plus it IS much more effective than any toothpaste on the market. Because Young Living’s personal care products are concentrated they last a LOT longer than any product I’ve ever used. Yes, I used to buy all of those so-called all-natural products, imagine how sick to my stomach I felt when I discovered I was spending a lot of money on stuff I would not knowingly ever spend my money on. Since then, it’s been my goal to reach and inform as many people as I can and let them know they’re being dooped like I was once.

Care to join me???

Take a look at how you can switch from the products you are using to the safe products you could be using, start a healthier and wealthier “you” (yes, you will save a bundle, check it out).
