Bandit, my dog is not known for fighting with other dogs – but he will stand up for himself when need be. Such was the case 4 days ago – I put Young Living’s Animal Scents Pet Ointment to the test again and to the rescue.

Animal Scents Ointment

Animal Scents Ointment

The neighbors dog came over to play with Bandit, they ran around playing for a while. The neighbors dog came up onto our porch to get a drink of water and spotted one of Bandit’s old bones, she took it down into the yard and laid down to chew on it.

A little while later, Bandit wanted the bone and the neighbor dog absolutely refused to let him have it. She’s part Boxer and has some pretty powerful jaws. When Bandit attempted to take the bone she jumped him and began fighting. Bandit fought back. My boyfriend was in the yard near them when the fight broke out and worked hard to pull them apart. These two dogs had no intention of stopping no matter what Curt did. Finally, he got each by the collar and held his arms as far apart  as possible and yelled for me to take Bandit.

When I got hold of Bandit I could see blood running down his face from near his eye. Had the other dog bit him a quarter of an inch more to the left Bandit probably wouldn’t have an eye today.

I took Bandit and went inside to get a wet cloth to wipe the blood off his face to see how bad the wound was. He had two good size punctures, one near his tear duck and the other just above his eye… man is he ever lucky!!!

I got out my jar of Young Living’s Animal Scents Pet Ointment and we very carefully applied a dab to each wound being careful not to get any in his eye. I’ve used this ointment before, mostly on myself when I had my landscape business, it’s a terrific ointment for both pets and people – Young Living ONLY uses ingredients that are fit for humans and completely free of toxins, solvents, chemicals, etc.

Around Bandits eye it did swell a little. I watched carefully for infection – none at all. By the third morning, all redness was gone, no scab, no swelling. And today… you can’t even tell he had two puncture wounds except that some hair is missing in those two spots (which will grow back).

More about this Animal Scents Ointment:

I feel every household needs to have a jar of this stuff…

The jar is large, 6.3 ounces. It’s more solid than liquid and has a nice smooth texture. It also has 8 of Young Living’s essential oils in it: Rosewood, Patchouli, carrot seed oil, Palmarosa, Idaho Balsam Fir, Melaleuca alternifolia, Geranium, and Myrrh. Oils well known for their healing and disinfecting properties.

If you’re not familiar with Young Living’s essential oils, there isn’t any better in the world. As a matter of fact, Young Living sets the standards when it comes to the finest and purest essential oils you can get anywhere. (Read more about why quality is extremely important)

Anyway, the uses are many. Quite often we oil lover’s will put a drop of a  Young Living essential oil on topically and then apply a dab of the Animal Scents Ointment – to seal in the essential oil and to add to the healing benefits.

The only reason I did not use Young Living’s Thieves essential to cleanse the wounds on Bandit is because I was afraid some of the essential oil could get into his eye – we don’t wan that to happen. I wasn’t sure if just using the ointment alone was going to be powerful enough. Turns out it was – it  showed me just how good the Young Living products are!

What I used to do:

I used to keep a tube of Neosporin in my truck when I had my landscape business because you’re always getting little dings, scrapes, bites, irritations  and cuts. I remember one day while applying Neosporin to a fresh cut thinking… “I REALLY wish this stuff worked as well as they advertise it to work, I’m always disappointed with the results and the wounds always get infected, and the healing takes so long. I thought this stuff was to prevent infections!”

Then, I discovered the pet ointment and that it was human grade ingredients, so I ordered a jar. Holy smokes! Does it ever work, I’ve been sold ever since.

Not only that but I have never had to apply more than one application on myself, seriously. Plus, the time it took to heal was greatly shortened. So, you know where that Neosporin went… in the trash!

A tip:

Another great way to use the Animal Scents Ointment is to get a tub of Young Living’s KidScents Tender Tush… yeah, yeah, yeah… I know it’s suppose to be for preventing and healing diaper rash but just listen to this…

Take a dab of the Young Living pet ointment and a dab of the Tender Tush in the palm of your hand, mix the two together real well and rub it on your dry cracked feet, knees, elbows… you want to see dry skin soften FAST – try that!

You can’t, or would want to do that with Desitin, man does that stuff stink, makes me want to gag (hmmm, I wonder what toxic ingredients are in Desitin… let’s find out here , hmmm, links to cancer, development/reproductive toxicity, neurotoxin and more!) Mom’s may want to switch to Tender Tush, discover other things you can switch to

Anyway, we don’t tend to get injured too often, but once a year I buy a jar of the pet ointment and one tube of the Tender Tush. For less than $40 a year at the distributor/wholesale pricing I have products that seriously work. That’s a lot less than what I used to spend on products that didn’t work!

I’ve also heard of people using the ointment as a leather saddle treatment, furniture polish, oh geez I can’t remember what else. The thing that’s coolest about the Young Living products is they can be used in so many ways and you use so little at a time, which is why their products end up costing less over then long-term.
