Cooking with Young Living essential oils is a terrific way to add flavor and the benefits of therapeutic-grade essential oils to your diet. This Cranberry recipe is super easy and delicious! If you’ve never made your own Cranberry Sauce for the holidays I highly recommend trying it this year – this recipe is nothing like the Cranberry Sauce from a can. Using Agave as the sweetener makes this recipe low-glycemic for those with diabetes. Impress your dinner guests with this fast and easy recipe.
Caution: do NOT use any ol’ brand of essential oil in this recipe as 98% of all essential oils in the world are adulterated, synthetic, or very poor quality (i.e., perfume grade) they are not suitable for cooking or ingesting. The only essential oil I use and recommend is the Young Living brand.
Tangerine Cranberry Sauce
1 1/2 cups organic natural sugar (or 1/2 cup Young Living Agave) (learn more about low-glycemic Agave Nectar)
1-1/2 cups water
16 oz package organic cranberries
1-3 drops Young Living Tangerine Essential Oil (add one drop at a time and taste)
optional: you can also add grated apples in the recipe
Heat sugar (or Agave) & water to boiling over medium high heat. Add cranberries, and return to boiling. Reduce heat to low and cover and simmer for 7 minutes or until cranberries pop. Let mixture cool, then add Young Living Tangerine essential oil to taste, refrigerate for 2 or more hours, serve. Yum!

Tips on Using Young Living Essential Oils in Cooking
• Not all essential oils are edible
• 98% of all essential oils sold should NOT be ingested due to lack of purity
• An edible essential oil will be labeled “therapeutic-grade AND have a “Supplement Facts” box on the label showing the nutritional value – do NOT use any brand of essential oil for cooking/flavoring foods. I only recommend Young Living.
• Young Living essential oils are VERY potent (one drop provides an amazing amount of flavor)
• You may dip a toothpick into the essential oil bottle and then swirl the toothpick in your recipe when a smaller amount of flavoring is desired.
• Add Young Living essential oil towards the end of cooking as too high and too much heat will destroy the therapeutic benefits.
• Remember – a single drop provides tons of flavor!
