The Black Plague and the Secret of Thieves

As the bubonic plague decimated Europe in the year 1413, four thieves were captured and charged with robbing the dead and dying victims. When the thieves were tried, the magistrate offered leniency if they would reveal how they resisted contracting the infection as they performed their gruesome acts.

The four thieves explained that they were perfumers and spice traders and told of a special concoction of aromatic herbs, including cloves and rosemary, that they rubbed on their hands, ears, and temples.

The proprietary Thieves essential oil blend was created based on research of the concoction used by the thieves of the 15th century. In 1997, studies conducted at Weber State University showed the Thieves essential oil blend to have a 99.96% success rate against airborne bacteria. The bacteria cultures were sprayed in an enclosed area, and Thieves oil blend was diffused for a given amount of time (this can be duplicated in the home using a cool-air diffuser).

Thieves Household Cleaner

I absolutely LOVE Thieves Household Cleaner!

I have never used any product that even comes close to working as well. I’ve always been into natural solutions for everything. However, I’ve always been very disappointed with their ability to perform.

I use the Thieves Household Cleaner in place of: all laundry detergents, bleach, dish washer detergents, spot/stain/grease removers, carpet shampoo, tub/tile/toilet cleaners, oven cleaner, floor cleaner, glass/mirror cleaners, cleaning moss off my porch and much more! Plus, I have more room in my cabinets and save a lot of money too!

For example: I use about 3-4 capfuls (tablespoons) of the Thieves Household Cleaner to do a load of laundry and that’s it (I don’t use anything else, I don’t need to). All of the Thieves products are staples in my household.

How much does it cost to use Thieves Household Cleaner?

For “regular” degreasing Thieves Cleaner costs 64 cents per quart (32 oz.) when added to water as directed.

For “heavy” degreasing Thieves Cleaner costs $1.27 per quart when added to water as directed.

Lysol Disinfectant costs $2.89
